CASA advocates help to prevent future victimization by ensuring that our community’s children have a Voice, Platform, and Place at the table to lessen the likelihood of future abuse and neglect.

CASA ensures that children are receiving appropriate services like individual therapy, family therapy, medical attention, or even services within the school setting. We aim to ensure they do not languish in an overburdened foster-care system.

CASA advocates bring stability and consistency in a time of crisis and uncertainty. We see each child at least once a month to ensure a connection and consistent adult in their life throughout their case.

CASA advocates speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and help guide them into safe environments where they can thrive.

Volunteer Badge Display

Today, CASA of Marion County proudly serves 77 local children through the dedication of 25 highly trained volunteer advocates, with three more volunteers currently in training. Supported every step of the way by our team of four experienced staff members, our volunteers are equipped with the tools, training, and encouragement they need to be a consistent voice for children experiencing abuse and neglect. Together, we are building brighter futures for Marion County's most vulnerable children.

Marion County is proud to be a member of the National CASA/GAL Association, who supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy on a national basis so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

CASA of Marion County is a member of the West Virginia CASA Association, a statewide network dedicated to developing, supporting, and strengthening local CASA programs. Together, we work to have highly trained volunteer advocates and the opportunity to achieve safe, stable, and permanent homes.

Mission and Values

Our Mission

CASA of Marion County is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for children of Marion County who have been abused and neglected. This is fulfilled through recruitment, training and supervision of community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to support these children as we strive to achieve the goal of safe and permanent homes.

Our Values

  • We provide independent, objective, and factual information to the circuit court though quality court reports.      

  • We are active participants in the child’s case management team.

  • We are persistent and keep our commitment to the children we serve.

  • We perform our work with proficiency and professionalism.
