WHO WE ARE

CASA of Marion County is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for children of Marion County who have been abused and neglected. This is fulfilled through recruitment, training and supervision of community volunteers who serve as Court Appointment Special Advocates (CASA) to support these children as we strive to achieve the goal of safe and permanent homes.

ADVOCATE

Our advocates are the heart and soul of the program! CASA volunteers review documents and records pertaining to the child's case. They meet with the child(ren) in a case to form a relationship with them by visiting monthly and understanding what is in their best interest. They interview adult family members as well as other adults in the child's life. Volunteers advocate for the child in court and provide written reports for court hearing.

“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
