A CASA For Every Child
WHO WE ARE
CASA of Marion County is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, educate, and advocate for children of Marion County who have been abused and neglected. Our mission is fulfilled through recruitment, training and supervision of community volunteers who serve as Court Appointment Special Advocates (CASA) who ensure these children are provided safe and permanent homes.
Our advocates are the heart and soul of the program! CASA volunteers review documents and records pertaining to the child's case. They meet with the child(ren) in a case to form a relationship with them by visiting monthly and understanding what is in their best interest. They interview adult family members as well as other adults in the child's life. Volunteers advocate for the child in court and provide written reports for court hearing.
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for helping foster kids and families along the way. We accept various donations such as personal hygiene kits for kids, emergency backpacks, new toys, and other items that help us support the victims of child abuse and neglect.
At CASA of Marion County, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the issue of abuse and neglect. Our non-profit is supported by grants, many donors, and organizations who highly value the importance of advocating for child victims of abuse and neglect. “We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”
